ATEC is more than studying!

GEORGE TOWN: GURNEY Paragon Mall invited 40 ATEC Academy students to join the shopping complex’s management in a Deepavali lighting ceremony.
The main attraction of the evening was a rangoli design on the floor of the entrance.
The cylindrical anamorphic design was created by the students to celebrate the most important date in the Hindu calendar.

Hunza Group executive director Khor Tze Ming said the event was a platform for the students to showcase their talents.
Guest-of-honour Pulau Tikus assemblyman Yap Soo Huey said she was pleased that the mall had invited the students to design the rangoli in a spirit of goodwill and camaraderie.
“It reflects the spirit of multiculturalism and, more importantly, it brings the races together to participate in and enjoy this Malaysian festival as one,” she said.

ATEC Academy Principal said it was important to let the students learn about the cultures of other races by spending a meaningful five hours to create the rangoli, instead of wasting their time.
A group of musicians livened up the event with a resounding traditional tabla and sitar performance.
Also present was Hunza Properties executive director Lily Tan.
